Passion for the sea and the environment

YESORKNOT was born for two reasons. First is the Edu’s passion for the sea, and because he has in water from 12 years. First with his Optimist, then windsurfing and kitesurfing playing lately. In one form or another he has always been involved with the nautical world, which highlights as camaraderie, the good atmosphere and contact with nature.

The second reason is precisely related to the environment, is to answer an industry need: Used Sails can not be recycled. It is unfortunate that a material that has experienced incredible moments and has a self-essence, stays in a warehouse corner that also becomes highly polluting after their stage of service life.

That is why Edu together with his wife, decided to give a creative twist and use these sails, to create unique and salt flavored fashion accessories.

From idea to product we spent thousands of things that can be summarized in 2: a high quality product (after years of research), and a lot of new friends just as passionate about the sea and the idea.

Finally YESORKNOT saw the light and their debut could not have a better framework: the 50th edition of the Barcelona International Boat Show. It is in this environment YESORKNOT starts to take off and wide horizons: a part of the web will sell in various shops in Menorca, Port Ginesta, Mallorca, Ibiza,…

YESORKNOT is created adding the passion and recycling, and it shows in every product that is designed by its creators. Everything is made by hand in Barcelona, ??looking for exclusivity and being an example of 'good work'. In addition to contribute to a cleaner world.

Making of a YESORKNOT product

Before talking about the production of YESORKNOT’s products, it should be noted that each of them has a specific printer, has a unique personality forged from the adventures that every sail has lived.

We achieve this by a controlled production process directly from the company and with the aim of creating special pieces, away from mass production. That is why each product is unique and unrepeatable.

The first step creating a YESORKNOT product is the selection of the sail. It is important because not all sails are eligible to become a product of ours. The standards of quality are very strict, and we understand that there are sails that have passed through such vicissitudes that they cannot have 'another life'.

Once we have selected the materials, the sail goes through a thorough washing process to remove any dirt, salt ... a process that usually takes one to two days depending on the state where it has.

Then this is the most creative process: what product do with that sail? How we combine? We listen what the sail tells us and we try to search for parts of the sail that allow us to get a unique and original result. The important thing is to keep the essence of the sea offering salt flavored products.

After development, every design process begins. All our pieces are made with quality materials, zippers, thread, backing, ropes, straps ... Also, note that all our products are handmade in Barcelona.
